Sheldon Keefe confirms injury to Mitch Marner.
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has officially confirmed the bad news.
I suspected Mitch Marner might be injured when he was notably absent from practice on Saturday morning, and unfortunately the bad news has now been confirmed.
Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has now officially confirmed that Marner will be out of the lineup tonight when the Maple Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens. According to Keefe, Marner is being considered day to day at this time but Keefe would also add that the team is awaiting the results of further testing that is set to undergo in Toronto.
Marner appears to have suffered the injury during an awkward fall that occurred earlier this week when the Maple Leafs were facing off against division rivals the Boston Bruins. Marner appeared to be favoring his leg after the awkward fall, but it's hard to gauge exactly what may have occurred on this play.
