The Toronto Maple Leafs are beefing up their lineup ahead of a clash against the Winnipeg Jets.

On Saturday morning, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that enforcer Ryan Reaves would suit up for the first time in over a month when the Leafs take on the Winnipeg Jets later today.

This might lead you to believe that the Leafs are looking to counter some of the more physical players in the Jets lineup, such as Brendan Dillon or Adam Lowry, but it seems like that this is more the result of circumstance than anything.

Earlier on Saturday, Keefe confirmed that Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok would be out of the lineup on a week to week basis after Jarnkrok suffered a serious injury during practice. This left a rather noticeable hole to fill in the Maple Leafs lineup, and Reaves now gets the chance to slot in.

This also solves a bit of a headache for the Maple Leafs, one that was created by Reaves himself when he complained about being on injured reserve in spite of being healthy last week. Reaves now gets to enter the lineup for the first time since he was injured all the way back on the 14th of December.
