Several teams calling to acquire a disappointed Steven Stamkos in Nashville!

Some wonder if he regrets signing with the Predators and are calling to find out. Get more details below:

Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz has been quite busy in the past weeks, swinging four deals since November 25th to improve his team. Just earlier this week, ahead of the NHL roster freeze, Trotz sent defenseman Alexandre Carrier to the Montreal Canadiens in return for blue liner Justin Barron.

The feeling out there is that Trotz ain’t done, which has prompted rival teams to call the Predators GM about none other than Steven Stamkos. Some pundits and fans have been wondering if Stammer regrets his decision to join the Preds as a free agent this summer and could be looking to be traded out of Nashville to a contender.

Back on July 1st, Stamkos 34, signed a four-year deal worth $8 million annually with the Predators. The signing took place after the former Lightning captain put up a 40-goal performance last season with Tampa Bay, but wasn’t in the plans of the franchise that selected him first overall back in 2008.

However this season in Music City, Stamkos has nine goals and 19 points in 33 games, well off last year’s pace in Florida.
While teams are right to investigate and call upon GM Trotz to ask about Stamkos, Marco D’Amico of RG.org revealed how a league source said there’s no indication either side is having second thoughts about the situation.

And so, while the Predators might be considering more moves after the NHL roster freeze, it sounds like Stamkos will not be one asset on the block for Nashville.
