Former NHL All-Star Sergei Fedorov has officially hit the open market, as it's been reported that he will not have his contract renewed as head coach of HC CSK Moscow of the KHL.
There were few players in NHL history as electric as former Detroit Red Wings forward Sergei Fedorov. Easily one of the greatest Russian players of all time, Fedorov defected to Detroit from the Soviet Union and carved out a memorable, Hall of Fame NHL career with three Stanley Cup titles as well as multiple personal accolades.
He was recently by the KHL by earning their version of the Jack Adams Award after leading CSK Moscow en route to their second championship; he would then repeat the feat by leading the team to their second straight title. He had also previously served as their GM.
Could he be enticed to return to North America in a coaching capacity?
