There has been a lot going on for forward Alex Galchenyuk this July… While he has entered the NHL and NHLPA’s player assistance program after being arrested last week for a hit and run incident, he remains unsigned for the 2023-24 season. That’s because the Arizona Coyotes terminated his contract just 13 days after signing the 29-year-old as a free agent.
Galchenyuk apologized for his actions, saying he knows he has “a long road ahead of me,” but he may already be looking for a second chance on the ice as T Championat reports that he is looking at options in the KHL for the upcoming campaign. It is also believed that Salavat Yulaev Ufa have already expressed interest.
Since his six-year stint with the Montreal Canadiens, who selected him third overall back in the 2012 NHL Draft, Galchenyuk has bounced around the NHL, playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins , Minnesota Wild , Ottawa Senators , Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche along with Arizona, where he was hoping to return to settle down.
However, he may now be looking at options in Russia, where the journey might continue for the NHL journeyman if he wants his hockey career to keep going…
