The two-time Stanley Cup winner is on the move just one year after joining the Kraken.

This just in, the Anaheim Ducks have acquired veteran defenseman Brian Dumoulin from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a 4th round pick.

The 32 year old Dumoulin is in the last season of a two year deal that pays him $3.15 million. He managed six goals and 16 points in 80 games last year with the Kraken, his first season with the team. Prior to that though, Dumoulin was a staple on the Pittsburgh Penguins' blue line for nearly a decade. He was a big part of the Penguins teams who won back to back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017, which led to a six year, $24.6 million deal back in 2017. Since then he hasn't had the same impact that he managed during his heyday with the Penguins, but he's still a valuable depth contributor.

As for the Ducks, this transaction brings them to within $3.5 million of the NHL's salary cap floor.
