Sean Couturier learns his fate for Saturday's game.

The Philadelphia Flyers have been going through a bit of a drama as of late.

Flyers head coach John Tortorella sent a loud message to his locker room this week when he made Flyers captain Sean Couturier a healthy scratch. Couturier was made to watch Tuesday night's clash against the Toronto Maple Leafs from the sidelines despite being healthy enough to play, and the Flyers would to the controversial move by picking up a big 4-3 win over the playoff bound Leafs.

Couturier's agent, Erik Lupien, would express his displeasure through the media but that did little to improve the situation for his client who found himself on the sidelines again when Tortorella made him a healthy scratch for a second straight game. Couturier was again forced to watch as his team played some of their most important games of the regular season, this time a 3-2 loss at the hands of the playoff bound Carolina Hurricanes.

Although this was likely very difficult for Couturier to deal with as a well respected veteran in the National Hockey League, it would seem that he will now get the chance to show his head coach that the message has been received.

According to a report from Flyers insider Anthony SanFilippo, it appears as though Couturier's involuntary leave of absence from the lineup may finally be coming to an end. SanFilippo reports that Couturier will be back in the lineup this evening when the Flyers clash with the Boston Bruins, another big game for the Flyers as they look to lock in their spot in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.

No word yet on whether or not Couturier will slot back into his usual spot in the lineup, or if Tortorella has another curve ball up his sleeve.
