Ryan Reaves quotes Disney film to describe Leafs mindset

That's one way to put it.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were looking to storm out of the gate against their divisional and Original 6 rival Boston Bruins in Game 1 of their opening round Stanley Cup Playoff series on Saturday night. It didn't happen.

The Bruins took it to the Leafs early and often, emerging victorious by a 5-1 final score and taking an early one game to none series lead. And just as they didn't want to do, the Leafs face the possibility of digging themselves into an early two-game hole if they aren't able to take care of business later tonight at TD Garden in Game 2 of the series.

For enforcer Ryan Reaves, the Leafs aren't looking backward, but rather on what's ahead of them. And he even quoted the beloved Disney film "The Lion King" while describing the team mindset.

"Almost the hakuna matata kind of motto," he said. "You can't be worried about what happened in the past. You just got to look forward."

He continued:

We've done it all year," he said. "We've had stretches where we couldn't win a couple games, we bounced back and strung a lot together. We've had games where we got absolutely waxed and came back the next day really strong. So, I'm not worried about the bounce back. It's going to be there tomorrow. We've just got to put it on the ice."

Right now, the Leafs have no choice but to emerge victories tonight on Boston ice, because the prospect of returning home to Toronto trailing by two games isn't something that the odds would say would work in their favor.
