Always something with this guy lol

One of the NHL's most feared men looks to be making a bit of a silent protest since being demoted to the AHL.

The 38 year old Ryan Reaves went unclaimed on waivers about a month ago and was demoted to the AHL's Toronto Marlies from the Toronto Maple Leafs but had yet to play game for the team until yesterday. Reaves played his first AHL game in nearly 15 years yesterday and sported a unique look.

Are you seeing what I'm seeing?

Reaves, of course, has played 912 NHL games without any sort of facial protection. In the AHL though, facial protectors like helmet visors are mandatory. So Reaves begrudgingly wore the visor, albeit with it pushed so high up that it essentially served no purpose.

That's absolutely ridiculous...

The AHL rulebook states that visors 'must cover the face' so clearly Reaves got away with an 'illegal equipment' penalty here. If I'm an opposing coach and I'm looking for an easy way to get a penalty call, I know I'm going to have a quick discussion with the officials.
