Ryan Reaves’ baby brother comes to his defense!
When your younger brother, who happens to be a CFL star, comes out to your defense. See how it unfolded down below:
It’s been a hard week for Toronto Maple Leafs’ Ryan Reaves, who was recently suspended five games for his on Edmonton Oilers’ Darnell Nurse. On Tuesday when he sought to explain his point of view on the suspension, he was shut down by the Maple Leafs as they did not allow him to meet with media.
On Thursday, Nurse did get the chance to speak to media about the hit and he made it clear that Reaves should know better than to target a players’ head.
“There is some onus on the player with the puck to be aware of where everyone is on the ice,” Nurse said. “With that said, even if you put yourself in a bad spot there is a lot of body on a 6’4” hockey player to hit and not one piece was touched other than my head.”
When Nurse said that and his quote got viral on social media, Reaves’ younger brother Jordan Reaves came to his defense.
Jordan Reaves followed in his father’s footsteps into football and has become a strong special teams defender. He is currently a free agent and maybe that’s why he had time to take a shot at Nurse in his brother’s defense.
This is what the younger Reaves had to say to Nurse about his brother’s hit and ensuing suspicion.
“You could tell that looking at your skates….”
This is a good line nonetheless from Reaves’ baby brother who has a point. If Nurse was looking down, how could he see Reaves’s intent…
However, fans in Toronto are also wondering why Reaves needs his brother to come to his defense - could it have to do with the fact that he has yet to fight this season and seems to be too afraid to do so?
Talk amongst yourselves.
