Ryan Lindgren injured after awkward collision on Sunday.
Bad news for the New York Rangers as Ryan Lindgren was helped off the ice on Sunday.
This one did not look good.
The New York Rangers may have been given some terrible news leading up to the Stanley Cup playoffs on Sunday after defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an ugly looking injury during a clash against intrastate rivals the New York Islanders.
Lindgren suffered the injury in the second period during a puck battle with Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau. As the two men were battling for the puck and jockeying for position, they went into the boards all tangled up with one another at an awkward looking angle.
Although it's hard to tell from the video, Lindgren's left leg appeared to absorb most of the impact as the two men twisted and crashed into the boards. What I do know is the injury was clearly to Lindgren's left leg as he was unable to put any weight on it after the collision, and had to be helped off the ice and back to the Rangers' locker room.
No official update from the Rangers just yet.
