Rumor: Several Canucks are now on the trading block.

Canucks willing to make deals.

The Vancouver Canucks look like they will be sellers at the National Hockey League trade deadline, and there may be more up for grabs from their roster than was initially believed.

We've been hearing J.T. Miller's name has been bandied about in trade rumors for several days now but it sounds like Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford has some additional pieces that he will be willing to unload at the deadline as he seeks to reshape this team into something that fits his vision of the future.

On Saturday night, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reported on the current situation in Vancouver and while he did make mention of Miller he strongly indicated that there is likely more to come.

"Jim Rutherford has put together his front office, almost finished there still could be some more hires, and now he's getting down to business talking about potential trades with the rest of the league," said Friedman on Saturday. "There's been a lot of rumors about J.T. Miller but I think it goes deeper than that. I think the Canucks have a number of their forwards that they are discussing with other teams around the league."

For fans worried that Rutherford could be looking at some of the team's young stars, Friedman provided some reassurance on that front as well. That being said it does sound like some fan favorites may end up playing somewhere else sooner rather than later.

"I don't think Pettersson is part of this, I don't think Horvat is part of this, but I think some other players, some notable ones, are part of this including potentially Connor Garland. You've all heard some of the rumors, the Rangers, Boston , Calgary and I think New Jersey's in there too, potentially in on some players who could have term and team control."

Based on the way Friedman was speaking it sounds like there may be more than just Garland and Miller involved in this mix, and he made it sound like Rutherford won't be wasting any time getting to work on some of these trades.

"It will be worth watching, we know Jim Rutherford isn't shy, and I think he's beginning to get going on what he's going to do to reshape the Canucks."
