The trio of players brought the Vancouver Canucks to within one victory of their first ever Stanley Cup championship in franchise history, and now they're forever going to be immortalized in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Goaltender Roberto Luongo and twin forwards Daniel and Henrik Sedin were among the 2022 Hall of Fame inductees as announced this afternoon in Toronto by hockey legend Mike Gartner:

Two of the greatest players in Canucks team history, the Sedin twins were drafted together in 1998 and would go on to suit up in 17 seasons. Henrik, known more as a playmaker, would register 1,070 points, 830 of which were assists. Meanwhile, Daniel would light the lamp 393 times along with a total of 1,041 points. Both players have their respective jersey numbers hanging in the rafters of Rogers Arena.

Luongo is arguably the best goaltender in Canucks history, winning a total of 252 games while wearing the blue and green. Of course, he would start his career with the New York Islanders before being eventually dealt to the Florida Panthers, where he would soon establish himself as one of the NHL's best. A blockbuster 2006 deal sent Luongo to the Pacific Northwest, where he helped the Canucks return to the postseason and come within three wins of the Western Conference Final.

A highly publicized rift between him and former coach John Tortorella culminated in his being benched for the 2014 Heritage Classic against the Ottawa Senators; he would be traded back to the Florida Panthers soon afterwards, where he would finish his career and also helped lead the Panthers back to the postseason in 2016; the Panthers recently retired his jersey number.

Both the Sedin twins and Luongo would represent their respective countries of Sweden and Canada on the international stage, with the Swedes winning gold in 2006 while Luongo helped lead Canada to gold in 2010. Both countries would face one another in 2014 for the gold, with the Canadians ultimately triumphing.
