Rick Tocchet confirms more bad news for Elias Pettersson.
Frustration with Elias Pettersson reaches an all-time high with Rick Tocchet confirming the bad news.
There has been a growing sense of frustration within the Vancouver Canucks fan base and it pertains to Canucks star forward Elias Pettersson.
On Saturday, head coach Rick Tocchet officially confirmed that we have already seen the last of Pettersson this season, with Tocchet informing the media that Pettersson will be shut down for what remains of the Canucks season.
Of course this decision makes perfect sense when you consider the fact that the Canucks are currently out of playoff contention and have no hope of getting back into the playoff bubble. Pettersson is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury and it makes all the sense in the world to make his health a priority with any hope of making the playoffs already dashed.
Unfortunately this has already been a very frustrating season for fans in Vancouver, especially when it comes to the topic of Elias Pettersson and those frustrations have spilled out in the responses to today's news. Needless to say many have begun to question whether or not this player belongs on this team at all.
While Pettersson remains a revered player among many fans in the city of Vancouver it is clear that there are now pockets of very angry, and very vocal, fans when it comes to this player. Whether or not Pettersson will be able to win those fans back next season remains to be seen.
