Report: Kyle Dubas interested in San Jose Sharks goalie

Kyle Dubas is now the main man in Pittsburgh, taking over the role of president of hockey operations for the franchise who decided to terminate both Ron Hextall and Brian Burke after they failed to make the postseason for the first time since Sidney Crosby's rookie season of 2005-06. 

And while Dubas himself said that they don't plan on being overly aggressive in free agency in terms of signing big names, there are reports emerging that he's looking to bring aboard another goaltender.

According to Frank Seravalli, the Penguins are interested in San Jose Sharks goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen: 

Last year in 37 games played with the basement-dwelling Sharks, Kahkonen posted a 9-20-7 record, .883 save percentage, and 3.85 goals against average. He has one more year remaining on his current contract that carries an AAV of $2.75 million. 

The goaltending tandem of Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith has been underwhelming for the Penguins, to say the least. With the prized Penguins trio of Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang all on the wrong side of age 35 and a projected dark age set to be ushered into Pittsburgh before too long, look for Dubas to maximize the time that they have left with the team to try and make one more run at a championship.

But would Kahkonen be the solution in net?
