In case you missed it last night, the Tampa Bay Lightning continued their stellar play of late picking up their fifth consecutive victory in a 5-2 win over the reeling Vancouver Canucks.
Captain Steven Stamkos had the highlight of the night, scoring his 500th career NHL goal:
At least, I'm certain that's the highlight of the night for most people.
For me though, I've got a different highlight that I want to showcase. Without further ado, I present to you: The Hot Mic Fart.
No word yet on who the exact offender is... but I've got my money on John Garrett despite his protest.
If you're a diehard Canucks fan calling for the team to tank in an effort to land project #1 pick Connor Bedard though... well... you may have a different highlight of the night entirely. For those fans, I present to you the Canucks faithful chanting, "TANK! TANK! TANK!"

Is this rock bottom for the Canucks? Will this team's front-office FINALLY, mercifully move forward with a proper rebuild? I'm not holding my breath...
The fact of the matter is that this team needs an overhaul from top to bottom, both on the ice and off the ice. The rumor mill has been working overtime this week for the Canucks and it has mostly centered around head coach Bruce Boudreau. It's been rumored that Boudreau will soon be out of a job and the early word is that former NHL coach turned broadcast analyst Rick Tocchet will be his replacement. The thing is... everyone knows it, but the Canucks just haven't announced it yet. Again, the rumor is that Tocchet was to fulfill his contractual obligations to broadcaster TNT before he can officially accept the job from the Canucks.
Having said all that, Canucks insider Jason Brough is reporting that Tocchet could be hired on Monday and that he'll be bringing his own assistants with him, presumably to replace the likes of Mike Yeo, Jason King and Trent Cull.
Check it out:
Don't be surprised if Tocchet's long-time buddy Phil Housley joins him on the bench in Vancouver. Stay tuned.
