This just in, the Boston Bruins have signed free agent forward Erik Haula to a two year deal worth $2.375 million per season.
Check it out:
The 30 year old Finnish forward had nine goals and 21 points n 51 games with the Nashville Predators last season and should be a decent replacement for former Bruins forward Sean Kuraly who signed a four year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier today.
If you're not familiar with Haula, he can flat out FLY. He's one of the fastest players in the NHL, but it's safe to say that his hands and his head can't always keep up with his feet. Still, he's a very versatile player who can kill penalties and who can give the Bruins some much needed speed on their 3rd or 4th line. Think of him like Taylor Hall but with about half the playmaking and finishing ability. That description may sounds like it's selling him short, but again he's a versatile player and getting him on a short term deal for less than $2.5 million per season is an absolute steal.
