Red Wings will be shorthanded vs. Sharks

The Detroit Red Wings will have a familiar face in the lineup tonight, as former foe Patrick Kane will be making his first appearance on the ice wearing the Winged Wheel since he decided to take his talents to the Motor City early last week.
And while it will be Kane taking the ice tonight for Detroit, they won't be at quite full strength. Veteran forward J.T. Compher, who has been enjoying a strong start to his Red Wings tenure, will not be playing:
Right now, he's currently listed as day-to-day by the Red Wings.
In the 24 games he's appeared in this season, Compher has scored six goals with 13 assists, and is on pace to eclipse the 60-point mark.
