With training camp set to get underway tomorrow, Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has inked a pair of veteran players to professional tryout contracts.

Forward Artem Anisimov and goaltender Michael Hutchinson are the latest new faces, and both will be aiming to earn a spot on the roster.

Anisimov last played in the NHL for the division rival Ottawa Senators in 2020-21. A veteran of 771 career NHL games, Anisimov has scored 180 goals and 196 assists during his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, and Senators. He spent last season with the Leigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, scoring 19 goals with 17 assists.

Hutchinson has appeared in a total of 153 career NHL games, racking up a record of 57-61-18 with a 2.93 goals against average and .903 save percentage. His numbers with the Columbus Blue Jackets last season leave plenty to be desired, with a goals against average of 4.29 and save percentage of .877. If he earns a contract, he'll be spending time with the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins.
