Both players have missed time of late.

The Detroit Red Wings are back in action tonight at Little Caesars Arena, bringing in the Dallas Stars and hoping to continue their momentum from their strong start to begin the month of January.
However, they'll continue to be shorthanded. According to Detroit's official X (formerly Twitter) account, both Patrick Kane and Ben Chiarot will not be able to play.
Patrick Kane has been absent since suffering a lower body injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this month, though he is expected to be able to return either right before the NHL All-Star break, or right after.
Meanwhile, Chiarot suffered an injury during his team's 4-2 setback against the Carolina Hurricanes last week.
