The Detroit Red Wings are going to be without captain Dylan Larkin for the immediate future after the frightening injury that he suffered on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, they're still awaiting the fate of veteran forward David Perron, who is almost certainly going to be suspended for a handful of games.
Ahead of tonight's game against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center, the Red Wings have announced several call ups from the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins. On their way up to the big club are forwards Jonatan Berggren, Auston Czarnik and Zach Aston-Reese. Meanwhile, J.T. Compher has been placed on IR retroactive to December 5:
Berggren has appeared in four games with the Red Wings this season, registering a single assist. Czarnik has also notched an assist in the 11 games that he's played, while Aston-Reese will be getting his first action in the Winged Wheel after having played last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs; he scored 10 goals and four assists in 77 games played.
The Red Wings take on the Stars tonight starting at 8:00 PM EST.
