Red Wings announce goaltending transaction
The move was announced late Sunday night.

The struggles of Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic have been no secret this season, as he currently has less than stellar numbers of a 4.09 goals against average and .880 save percentage in eight games played so far in 2022-23.
Meanwhile, late last month, Red Wings decided to re-acclimate themselves with goaltender Magnus Hellberg, who briefly suited up for the team near the end of last season after agreeing to a pro-rated NHL contract. This past summer, would sign with the Seattle Kraken, only to be waived and picked up by the Ottawa Senators. After a brief stint in the Canadian capitol city, he'd be again waived and subsequently re-claimed by the Kraken. And as fate would have it, he would once again find himself on the waiver wire, only to be snagged by Detroit for his second go-around in the Motor City.
And it looks as though the Red Wings may be giving him a look at the backup position behind established starter Ville Husso. Late on Sunday evening, the Red Wings announced that they've re-called Hellberg from the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins:
Hellberg has made four starts with the Griffins since re-joining the Red Wings organization, posting a 2.50 goals against average.
As of right now, there haven't been any moves regarding Nedeljovic's status. But it's reasonable to assume that the Red Wings would like to see him get a chance to get more action in the AHL and improve his numbers and confidence for a short while. Stay tuned.
