Red Wings’ 18-year-old Tyler Totten charged with manslaughter as victim dies from serious injuries

The young forward of the Fredericton Red Wings (MJAHL) is involved in a crazy case to be classified as a homicide.

A terrible incident that took place on September 22nd has led forward of the Fredericton Red Wings of the Junior A Maritime Hockey League, Tyler Totten to be arrested and charged with manslaughter. As Puck Empire explains it in a post , Totten was arrested when police responded to the assault involving two men, one who suffered serious injuries, and the other who had minor injuries.

At first, the incident was investigated as serious assault, however, on October 1st, the situation escalated when authorities announced the death of the man with serious injuries, prompting the case to be classified as a homicide.

41-year old, Andre Bourgeois is the victim in this case and two other teenagers have been charged with manslaughter in connection with his passing. Totten, a 17-year-old male youth, a 16-year-old male youth, all appeared in court Thursday and were released on conditions. The identities of the other youngsters are protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act in Canada, and it is unconfirmed whether they’re connected to the Maritime Hockey League or the Fredericton Red Wings.
Spokesperson James Faulker of the Junior A Maritime Hockey League make a statement, adding that the league will fully cooperate with the investigation, per Rick Westhead. However, Red Wings GM Kyle McAllister wouldn’t comment on the matter.

Totten has two goals, four points through eight games played with season with the Red Wings. He clearly needs to get his life back on track and could face many years in prison to reflect on what he’s accused of doing.
