Projected second overall pick Adam Fantilli gets roasted on social media!

The first few projected picks of the upcoming NHL Draft were in Vegas to take in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Golden Knights and Florida Panthers on Monday and prospect Adam Fantilli stood out when he spoke about which current NHL player he would like to emulate on the ice.

Fantalli, who is projected to go second after generational talent Connor Bedard, singled out Matthew Tkachuk as the current NHLer he would most like to model his game after.

“I really love the way Tkachuk’s been playing in all situations — PK, power play, last minute. I’ll try to emulate that.”

On social media, he was quickly criticized for his pick, especially since Tkachuk has put up the most penalties in a Cup final in the past 30 years after Monday’s 7-2 loss at the hands of the Golden Knights. Here are a few reactions to Fantalli’s statement when he mentioned Tkachuk as a role model:

There is no doubt that Fantilli will be a franchise-changer, just like his friend Bedard. And too be a superstar in the NHL, you have to have haters, and with his desire to model his game after Tkachuk, Fantilli already has his.
