The Winnipeg Jets have taken care of an important matter of business, locking down a major piece of the return they got back from the Los Angeles Kings.
In case you were unaware, the Kings sent forward Gabriel Vilardi alongside Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, and a 2024 2nd-round draft pick, to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois; the Kings subsequently inked Dubois to a lengthy extension.
But now, it's Winnipeg's turn to act. They've avoided arbitration with Vilardi, agreeing to a two year extension worth $3.4375 million.
How is he going to perform with the Jets this season now that he's got his contract issues out of the way and can fully focus on the upcoming task at hand in the form of the 2023 NHL season? We'll soon find out, as training camp is just over a month away!
