Paul Bissonnette trolls Bruins after Game 5 Leafs OT win

Is there some doubt creeping into the minds of Boston?

The Toronto Maple Leafs pulled off what many had doubted was even possible given their poor performance in the previous game, staving off elimination by defeating the Boston Bruins in last night's Game 5 at TD Garden. The Leafs survive to play another night, but still face the daunting challenge of having no choice but to win two straight against the Bruins to remain in the postseason.

It was young Leafs forward Matthews Knies who banged home a rebound past Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman shortly into the extra session, guaranteeing that both teams would have to return to Toronto's Scotiabank Arena tomorrow night. But for Bruins fans, the setback understandably brought back unpleasant memories of last season's playoff collapse at the hands of the Florida Panthers.

As you may remember, Boston took a three games to one series lead over Florida onto home ice for Game 5, only to lose in overtime and be forced to go back on the road. And the less we mention about what transpired in Games 6 and 7, the better for the psyche of Bruins fans.

But someone who isn't concerned whatsoever about bringing back that foul odor is current NHL analyst and Leafs Superman Paul Bissonnette. The former one-time forward was all too eager to poke fun at the Bruins, hinting that they were on the verge of once again choking away a Round 1 series.

He wrote on social media:

"The Brick Woll just outperformed your glory boy in your own building. You couldn't even beat us no Matthews. It's happening all over again. Choke artists are back. #LeafsForever"

He then issued the following advice for the Leafs for tomorrow's game:

"Toronto needs the greatest game we’ve ever seen from the Core 4 on Thursday. The Avengers need to assemble in Game 6 in Leafs Land. We need the first 20 to rev up the Yatch Club like we’ve never seen before. Have to come out guns a blazing. Power play needs to get 2 in my opinion. Special teams have to bring it. #BeLeaf #LeafsForever"
