Blue Jackets’ Patrik Laine finally began a fan-favorite in Columbus after putting up the first point-per-game season in his career despite missing time because of two different injuries.
He also got the love of the fanbase for his fashion-forward gameday attire and on Tuesday, the Spittin Chiclets revealed how he is taking his fashion game on ice.
Laine started trending when the Spittin Chiclets shared a video of him at Blue Jackets’ practice sporting a hoodie over his helmet. Fans commented that not only the look was sick, but that Laine also looked ready for an incoming 50-goal season!
Some fans assumed that Laine sported the hoodie to cover his new hairdo, which might have caused him to be cold during practice.
Earlier this month, Laine was seen at a baseball event in Tampere, the Kaupi’s baseball stadium for the XBIL shop’s celebrity baseball match, which supports the sport’s junior activities, and went viral because of his new haircut. Laine was almost bald in honor of the summer, sporting hedgehog hair for the offseason.
Now, we don’t care what haircut Laine chooses for 2022-23 as long as he fills the net like his new contract did his pockets. Earlier this summer, the star forward signed a four-year, $34.8 million contract, worth $8.7 million annually.
Laine has played 101 games as a Blue Jacket and has an impressive 36 goals and 77 points, including 26 goals and 56 points in just 56 games in 2021-22.
Before the arrival of Johnny Gaudreau via free agency, Laine was one of the few stars on the Blue Jackets’ roster. With Gaudreau in the fold, Laine is ready to make Columbus a contender and, of course, he wants to do it in style.
