In Game 1 of the Johnny Gaudreau era in Columbus, there is already some adversity for Blue Jackets.
While Patrik Laine scored the first goal of the season for the Blue Jackets, just 11 seconds into the second period of the game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night, he couldn’t finish the contest due to a troublesome injury.
As the replay shows here below, Laine got crushed into the board by Carolina’s Brett Pesce and it was clear the collision was brutal.
Laine then headed to the team’s bench and was in clear discomfort. He then was forced to leave the game and it was announced that he would not return.
This is what happened:
Laine was so ready for the start of the season, showing with a great outfit as he always did last season.
However, this one was unlucky as fans hope that Laine won’t be out too long with what appears to be an elbow injury.
