Patrick Kane being linked to Atlantic Division team
Could Kane head in this direction?
HockeyFeed
As you know, free agent forward Patrick Kane is currently on the shelf after having undergone surgery shortly after the season for the New York Rangers ended in disappointing fashion at the hands of the New Jersey Devils.
Right now, he's not been able to generate much serious interest from any NHL clubs thanks to his surgery, which upon completion, was slated to keep him off the ice for at least four to six months. And while it's been rumored that he in fact could make a return to the Rangers sometime in November, could an Atlantic Division team come calling?
According to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now, the defending Eastern Conference Champion Florida Panthers could have interest in Kane when he's ready to start playing again:
"Could the Panthers have interest in Kane when he is healthy?
Perhaps. Kane spent his career with the Blackhawks and won the Stanley Cup there three times before being traded to the Rangers at the deadline.
Now a free agent, the thought is Kane will be ready to go sometime around the New Year and will pick the team he wants to play for.
If the Panthers look like a fit, they may be able to figure something out when it comes to the salary cap.
The Kane decision is a ways away and much can happen between today and when he is able to return."
Just how would Kane look wearing Panthers colors?
