On this day 28 years ago Philadelphia Flyers' goaltender Ron Hextall took the shot heard around the world.
Although Islanders' goaltender Billy Smith was the first goalie to be credited with a goal, 'Hexy' was the first to actually shoot the puck down the ice and score against the Bruins in 1987-88.
It was the first of two goals that Hextall scored in his career, the other coming in the 1988-89 playoffs.
The funniest thing is the announcer, who calls the goal only three seconds before Hextall shoots it into the open cage.
Truly a classic moment in NHL.
