Oilers may have decided the fates of Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg

Both players were given offer sheets by the St. Louis Blues.

It's a rarity in today's NHL, but the St. Louis Blues decided to double things up by offering two separate offer sheets to Edmonton's Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg, both of whom are restricted free agents. This means that Oilers would have one week to either match the offer sheets, or to allow them both to walk and receive draft compensation in return.

The offer sheet for Hollaway is for two years with a $2,290,457 cap hit, while the offer sheet for Broberg is also for two years with a $4,580,917 cap hit.

And based on the latest indication from the Oilers' website, it looks as though they may have made the decision to let both players walk. Neither player is listed on the Edmonton roster, fueling speculation that new GM Stan Bowman won't be matching the offers. 

As of the writing of this article, the Oilers are in the hole in terms of cap space to the tune of $-5,925,541:

Holloway played 38 games last season with the Oilers, scoring six goals with three assists. He also played 18 games with the American Hockey League Baskersfield Condors, scoring 10 goals and six assists. 

Meanwhile, Broberg only registered a pair of assists in 12 games with Edmonton; he spent most of his playing time with Bkersfield, scoring five goals and 33 assists in 49 games.
