Oilers may finally be done with Jesse Puljujarvi.

The Jesse Puljujarvi saga in Edmonton may finally be coming to an end, one way or another.

On Friday it appeared as though the polarizing forward would be placed on waivers by the Oilers, a process that not many believe would lead to Puljujarvi making it through unclaimed. That never came to pass however for a variety of reasons, but that doesn't mean that Puljujarvi has been spared his seemingly inevitable fate.

On Saturday night during the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, National Hockey League reporter Jeff Marek all but confirmed that the Oilers appear to be making a real effort to rid themselves of the Swedish forward.

"It very much sounds like Kailer Yamamoto makes his return to Edmonton on Wednesday so we're all watching the waiver wire on Tuesday," said Jeff Marek on Saturday night. "I think the name we are all looking for here is Jesse Puljujarvi, unless he's traded by them."

There have been all kinds of rumors surrounding Puljujarvi for years now but it sounds like the Oilers may have actually run out of patience this time. The only questions now surround what will come next for Puljujarvi if he is indeed waived on Tuesday? Will he and his cap hit of $3 million be picked up by a rival team, and if so which team will that prove to be?

"I think we wonder if this is the next chapter in the Jesse Puljujarvi saga," concluded Marek.
