Well, this isn't ideal for them.

The Edmonton Oilers are taking on the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights tonight at Rogers Place, but they'll be without the most important part of their team.
Team captain Connor McDavid is not on the ice for warmups, and he won't be playing in tonight's game.
According to comments from Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch, the superstar Oilers captain isn't expected to miss significant time.
“He’s day-to-day. We’ll find out (the severity) tomorrow, definitely the weekend, but it’s day to day,” Knobluch explained.
This wasn't unexpected, as Mark Spector of Sportsnet reported yesterday.
“Officially, McDavid has a lower body injury and is day to day,” Spector posted on his X account on April 9. “Questionable for [tomorrow] vs. VGK. Injury happened with roughly 5:00 to play in Calgary Saturday.
“Sounds like an injury, but not a major one. With playoffs around the corner, they’ll be careful,” Spector concluded.
With 31 goals and 99 assists on the season, McDavid is just one helper away from reaching the century mark in assists for the first time in his career. He's also third in the NHL in total points with 130, being Nathan MacKinnon and Nikita Kucherov.
