Oilers and Maple Leafs forced to adjust their lineups on Saturday.

Both the Oilers and Maple Leafs are battling injuries as they come into the first of two meetings this season.

The Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs will only go head to head twice over the course of the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season and unfortunately both teams will be operating at less than 100% effectiveness this evening.

The Maple Leafs will of course once again be without the services of their captain Auston Matthews who remains sidelined due to injury, and earlier today Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch would confirm that forward Viktor Arvidsson would be out of the lineup tonight due to injury as well.

In the case of the Oilers that means they will be rolling with only 11 forwards tonight, opting to go with 7 defensemen instead of 4 full forward lines, and here is the lineup you can expect to see based on what the Oilers showed in warmups:

RNH - McDavid - Hyman
Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Perry
Janmark - Henrique - Brown
Skinner - Ryan

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Dermott
Kulak - Emberson
Stecher

Skinner

The Maple Leafs will be making one additional change with Alex Steeves coming out of the lineup and Nicholas Robertson coming into the lineup in his stead.

Here is the full lineup based on warmups:

McMann - Tavares - Marner
Knies - Domi - Nylander
Robertson - Kampf - Holmberg
Dewar - Lorentz - Reaves

McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - Hakanpää
Ekman-Larsson - Timmins

Stolarz

Should make for an interesting matchup with both teams dealing with their own respective issues.
