OHL has touching tribute for the late Adam Johnson

The sports world is still reeling from the stunning death of former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson, who lost his life following a freak accident on the ice in the United Kingdom.

Johnson had been playing for the Nottingham Panthers, and was felled by an inadvertent skate to the neck by Sheffield Steelers player Matt Petgrave on Saturday evening. Tragically, Johnson would not survive. 

The Penguins themselves have already held a special tribute for Johnson during their game last night at PPG Paints Arena against the Anaheim Ducks, and now, another one of his former teams has done the same.

The Ontario Reign, whom Johnson played parts of two seasons with, held a special moment following their game against the Abbotsford Canucks. 

Reign forward Jacob Doty skated onto the ice holding a jersey with number 49 and Johnson's nameplate on the back, leaving it draped over the center ice logo: 

Johnson was also posthumously awarded the game's designation of being the 1st star.
