Nick Foligno earns unsportsmanlike for taunting NHL officials.

Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno was not happy with the officiating on Sunday night.

Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno wasn't happy with some of the calls on Sunday night and he let the National Hockey League officials know about it in rather comical fashion. Unfortunately for Foligno it seems the officials didn't find it nearly quite as amusing as I did.

On Sunday night Foligno and the Blackhawks took on the Minnesota Wild and it would be during the second period of that game that the incident in question would take place. Foligno was called for a holding penalty that he clearly did not agree with and we know that because Foligno proceeded to make a mockery of the call right on the ice. In a very exaggerated fashion, Foligno pretended as though he had just been held and flopped to the ice to show just how ridiculous he felt the call had been.

As I said before, Foligno's antics were quite amusing, especially coming from a well respected veteran like Foligno, but the officials on the ice didn't think so and slapped him with an additional 2 minutes. Rather than merely going to the penalty box for holding, an additional unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was added to Foligno's tab for his attempts to mock the officials.

You can see the replay of the whole incident in the short clip below:

Here is a closer look at the hilarious flopping from Foligno:

It needs to be said that he didn't do his team any favors by picking up an extra 2 minutes and who knows how the officials will call future penalties in this game as a result of Foligno mocking them, but it sure was funny.
