And then there were three… According to Elliotte Friedman, Lane and Cole Hutson are not the only ones in the family getting attention from the NHL. As the insider reports in his latest 32 Thoughts column on Sportsnet, their older brother Quinn is also making headlines. His Boston University men’s hockey team secured its spot in its third straight Frozen Four appearance thanks to Quinn Hutson’s overtime winner.

Quinn wasn’t the only Hutson to find the back of the net during the Toledo regional final as his younger brother, Cole Hutson, the Washington Capitals’ second round pick last summer, recorded a power play tally in the third period to give BU a 2-1 lead. He was also named the most outstanding player of the Toledo region.

However Friedman is now saying that Quinn may be getting phone calls from NHL suitors and could join his brothers in the big league.

“Lane and Cole Hutson ’s undrafted older brother, Quinn, who will play for Boston University at the Frozen Four this week, has serious Western Conference interest.”

While Cole has yet to suit up for the Capitals, brother Lane has been a huge difference maker this season with the Montreal Canadiens. On Sunday against the Nashville Predators, he picked up an assist, marking the 64th point of his freshman season. He’s now tied with Chris Chelios for the most points in a season by a Canadiens rookie defenseman.

No wonder Quinn is getting a second look now after going undrafted a few years back.

Where would you like to see him end up in the West if he goes on to sign in the NHL?
