NHL team goes above and beyond for family of Chris Snow.
An incredible show of class from a National Hockey League team on Saturday night.
The story of Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow is one that touched many members of the hockey community and is one that the hockey community will not soon forget.
On Saturday night, we will once again be reminded of what a tremendous impact Chris had on the hockey community as well as of the incredible courage he showed during his battle with ALS when the Colorado Avalanche honor Chris this evening. The Avalanche welcome the Calgary Flames to Ball Arena on Saturday night and with the Flames in attendance they have chosen this night to pay tribute to the late Chris Snow.
While a tribute to Snow would be a great show of class in its own right, the Avalanche have gone a step further for the Snow family on Chris' special night in Denver. According to Kelsie Snow, Chris' widow, the Avalanche have also invited both her and the children to be their guest of honor at Ball Arena this evening where Chris will be honored.
Kelsie informed her followers on social media of the news and shared with her message a photo of her kids being informed of the news, with the young pair looking simply overjoyed.
"When the Avalanche told us they wanted to honor Chris at tonight’s game against the Flames in Denver we were so grateful," wrote Kelsie on X. "When they asked us if we would be their guests, well, you can see the look on these two faces."
A great and very classy decision on the part of the Avalanche this evening.
