The Boston Bruins took care of business last night at TD Garden in downtown Boston, besting the rival Toronto Maple Leafs by a 4-1 final score and coming back to within a point of the Florida Panthers for top spot in the Atlantic Division standings.
However, one member of the team will have to pay up thanks to his actions last night. Forward Charlie Coyle will be a little lighter in the wallet after delivering a cross check to Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi, his brief former teammate.
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced the following:
"Boston’s Charlie Coyle has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Toronto’s Tyler Bertuzzi."
