NHL insider suggests insane trade rumour between Canucks and Devils

With the New Jersey Devils’ struggles as a team piling up at the moment, we know the Taylor Hall trade chatter is gonna get wild in no time. 

In fact, it might have already… 

It has led Kevin Dupont of the Boston Globe to suggest an insane trade between the Vancouver Canucks and Devils. Sure, if you’re a Canucks fan you might get excited at the possibility of landing Hall - with the understanding that he would be signed to an extension in Vancouver. 

However, not so fast. First, see what Dupont suggests in return and you might hang up the phone right away: would you give up Quinn Hughes or Elias Pettersson in return? 

Hall is the top unrestricted free agent on the market for 2020 and thus would be the top UFA rental option available at the Feb. 24 trade deadline, sure. But giving up on one of the key pieces for your future seems ridiculous for the Canucks!
