NHL announces Draft Lottery odds for all 16 eliminated teams.

On Monday the Stanley Cup playoffs will get under way as the National Hockey League's 16 best teams will enter one of the most grueling tournaments in the sports world in the hopes of being crowned this year's Stanley Cup Champions. Those 16 teams however only represent half of the teams in the league and for the other half of the league's teams now is the time to begin looking towards the future.

For many of those teams the first order of business on that list will be the upcoming NHL Entry Draft in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The top prize at this year's draft is expected to be forward Shane Wright of the Ontario Hockey League, a young playmaker that will no doubt immediately improve the fortunes of the lucky team that lands him. Who will get Shane Wright has of yet to be determined because the NHL has yet to hold its annual Draft Lottery, with this year's event scheduled to take place just a little over a week from now on Tuesday, May 10th.

Of course not every team has an equal chance of winning the Draft Lottery with the lottery being weighted in favor of the worst teams in the league, and calculating the odds can be a little complicated at times. Thankfully on Sunday the NHL released the full list of odds for all 16 teams entered into this year's Draft Lottery, so you don't even have to think about it.

As the NHL's worst team the Montreal Canadiens are the winners, if you can call them that, with the best odds of getting the first overall pick in the draft at 18.5%, and the odds get progressively worse from there. Here is the full list as per the NHL:

2. Arizona Coyotes - 13.5%

3. Seattle Kraken - 11.5%

4. Philadelphia Flyers - 9.5%

5. New Jersey Devils - 8.5%

6. Chicago Blackhawks - 7.5%

7. Ottawa Senators - 6.5%

8. Detroit Red Wings - 6.0%

9. Buffalo Sabres - 5.0%

10. Anaheim Ducks 3.5%

11. San Jose Sharks - 3.0%

12. Columbus Blue Jackets - 2.5%
