Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis has taken a personal leave of absence from the team as he deals with a family situation, that was eventually revealed to involve his youngest son Mason.
The speculation had emerged over the weekend when St-Louis quickly left the team in Calgary to get back to his family and defenseman David Savard hinted at some health issue to one of his three sons.
Later on, Maxim Truman, a Montreal blogger, revealed the situation involved St. Louis’ youngest son, Mason, and of course, the idea was to give the family some privacy.
Now that the situation seems to be improving, more was leaked on what happened to Mason St. Louis. The update was provided by Mason’s hockey team, Mid Fairfield 08s, in which we find out that the young player was injured following a scary collision during third period of the game back on March 8, and could have dealt with lingering symptoms that pushed him to get medical help.
For now, this is what has been said about Mason, and we can only hope he is feeling better and that any risk or danger linked to his condition have been ruled out.
The Canadiens are likely to provide some information on what’s going on with St-Louis, but for now the focus is on the well-being of his family.
