Monster Sidney Crosby trade rumour gets louder during 4-nations tournament
This would be the trade to end all trades. Full story below:
What else did we expect? Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby may be an untouchable as trade rumours continue to dealt with by general manager Kyle Dubas, he could eventually decided he wants out of the retooling team and join a contender for a fourth Stanley Cup before hanging up the skates. And you’ve heard the rumours… Many believe Crosby would only accept to leave Pittsburgh if he can pull a Raymond Bourque and get traded to the Colorado Avalanche to play alongside buddy Nathan MacKinnon.
While it sounds far-fetched, knowing how loyal Crosby is to the Penguins, Wednesday’s contest between Team Canada and Sweden at the 4-nations tournament only made the trade rumours get louder.
Watching both Crosby and MacKinnon cooking up amazing plays on the ice got people rooting for a trade that would see the Penguins superstar joined his Nova Scotia buddy in Denver.
As you can see from the post below, and all of its comments, that’s a trade that people are longing for:
Last month when the blockbuster trade sent Mikko Rantanen from the Avs to the Carolina Hurricanes, Spittin’ Chiclets podcasters (and former Crosby teammates) Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney suggested that the Penguins could be trading their captain to Colorado for him to finally join and play with MacKinnon. Not long after, Penguins insider Josh Yohe said that they should know better than spreading such a baseless rumor and Crosby not looking to finish his career elsewhere than Pittsburgh and is pretty much fed up with all the chatter.
But could Crosby be convinced after the 4-nations tournament that he needs to play with MacKinnon before he retires?
I guess that’s why the rumours are getting louder at this time…
