This tournament couldn't be going any better for Team USA, with back to back regulation wins over Finland and Canada to secure themselves a spot in the final of this brief but incredibly exciting international tournament.

Unfortunately for the Americans it would seem that their two big wins have not come without a cost, with head coach Mike Sullivan confirming during his post game comments that one of his top forwards has been injured. Sullivan spoke with the media following the conclusion of his team's 3-1 victory over the Canadians on Saturday night, indicating that star forward Matthew Tkachuk was being ruled out at least for now.

"Matthew is out with a lower body injury right now," confirmed Sullivan during his post game comments.

Sullivan did however refuse to go into any greater detail regarding Tkachuk's status for the rest of the tournament, stating only that Tkachuk would be evaluated by the team's medical personnel and that decisions would be made from there.

"He's being evaluated by our doctors, that's all I can offer you," said Sullivan. "We will make decisions that we think is best for Matthew and we think is best for our team. Right now I don't have a lot of information to go on so it's hard to give you more."

The good news here for Team USA is that they have already secured their spot in the final with their two regulation wins, which means that, at least in theory, they will have the luxury of being able to rest Tkachuk during Monday's game against Sweden without having to worry about hurting their chances in the tournament by doing so.
