Tie Domi remains one of the more beloved former members of the Toronto Maple Leafs in recent history, and despite his son Max having once suited up for the rival Montreal Canadiens and trolling his dad's team, Max is indeed now a member of the Leafs after agreeing to a one-year contract this offseason.

Having split last season with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars, Domi was lured to the Leafs by new general manager Brad Treliving, who succeeded Kyle Dubas on the job following his termination.

"I think, growing up, it was always a dream to play for the Leafs and kind of the dream, behind winning a Stanley Cup, was wearing the Blue and White and I think you get the chance to cross one, hopefully two things off the bucket list is pretty spectacular and a great opportunity," he said. "Unbelievable hockey team, great group of guys and to wear that jersey is a huge honour and a privilege and I can't wait to do it."

Domi then appeared to go against his previous remarks years ago and imply that he's wanted to join the Leafs for years.

"When you're a free agent, you look at a few things and I think that's at the top of everyone's list and I think for me, I wanted to come somewhere where I can win the Stanley Cup and be a part of that and, obviously, I've had my eye on this organization for awhile and looking forward to being a part of it now getting to work."

Of course, you may remember during Domi's time with the arch-rival Canadiens that he was more than happy to chirp the Leafs and remind them how many more Stanley Cup championships they have.

How will Domi's first year with the Leafs pan out, and will he extend his stay beyond this season?
