Matthews fires a shot at fans who boo'ed Leafs off the ice last night
I've gotta say... he's spot on. Show some class!

If you didn't catch last night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, boy oh boy did you miss a doozy.
With the Leafs down 4-1 and with their offense seemingly on life support it looked like they were absolutely cooked. In fact, the team was even boo'ed off the ice following a dreadful 1st period.
Check it out:
From there, the Leafs absolutely poured it on with Auston Matthews doing his best to fire up a quiet crowd:
Calle Jarnkrok (remember that name) then tied the game off a rebound on a beautiful play from Nick Robertson:
From there Mitch Marner put the Buds ahead with this beauty:
The Bolts would come back to tie things late in the 3rd period but OT hero Jarnkrok finished things off with a easy little tap in thanks to an incredible pass from Morgan Rielly:
What a game! What a win!
After the game Matthews was asked about his spirited goal celebration and what exactly inspired him to get so riled up. His response was perfect... basically, he wanted the stodgy suits in Scotiabank Arena's lower bowl to get up off their asses.

Basically, 'You gonna boo us now?' I love it.
I'm sure head coach Sheldon Keefe won't be happy with the way that his team fell behind early, but he's got to appreciate their heart and their willingness to claw back into the game. Remember this win if the Leafs end up going on a bit of a run. These are the kind of victories that can spur a team on through tough times. Great W.
It's not all wine and roses for the Leafs following this win, though. Starting goaltender Ilya Samsonov was pulled in the 1st period and pulled for the second game in a row. Joseph Woll came in and was the rock that this team needed in order the weather the storm. Frankly, Woll has shown this season that he should be given the reigns as the team's uncontested starting goaltender. Let Samsonov watch from the bench and take some reps in practice so that he can get his mental game back to where it's supposed to be and let Woll show what he's made of in the meantime. Thoughts, Leafs fans?
