After the 4 nations tournament final, it was obvious that many bets would have to be settled in many dressing rooms of the National Hockey League. And in Toronto, it’s no different.

According to Lance Hornby, some bets had to be settled in the Maple Leafs’ dressing room on Friday morning, with Team Canada taking the win.

And you could not have scripted it any better. The final game went to overtime between Team USA and Team Canada, and none other than Connor McDavid played the country’s hero, scoring at 8:18 of overtime as Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in a riveting showdown.

However, Matthew Knies still hasn’t paid up as he made a bet with head coach Craig Berube, who is still waiting after his payment.

“Kniesy owes me,” joked Berube about the American’s loss. “And he hasn’t paid me yet.”

Knies isn’t the one only who probably owes some cash to some Canadian counterpart.

The game was just epic, and it was almost sure from the start that it would head to overtime.

McDavid as named game MVP, while Nathan MacKinnon was named tournament MVP.

The boys, led by captain Sidney Crosby, hoisted the trophy and partied in the dressing room.

Now the next step of the Canadians’ list : getting their money from all the bets they won.
