Mark Stone suffers a gruesome looking injury to his eye during Game 4 on Saturday.

There are some injuries that can look much, much, worse than they actually are and that was exactly the case when it comes to an injury suffered by Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone on Saturday.

Stone and the Golden Knights took on the Minnesota Wild on Saturday for Game 4 of their opening round series in the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, and it would be in the early moments of that game's third period that Stone would suffer a rather gruesome looking injury.

Stone would take the stick of Wild rookie defenseman Zeev Buium right to the face after just a little over a minute had expired on the game clock, and unfortunately for both Stone and Buium it would catch Stone right in the eye. While Stone's eyeball appeared to avoid any serious damage, the brow above his eye was badly sliced open by the blade of the stick which would result in a crimson mask on Stone's face.

As Stone turned to look at the referee for a call he also looked towards the camera being shown to the people at home, and seeing half of his face covered with his own blood made for quite the gruesome sight out of nowhere.

The Golden Knights would get a 4 minute power play out of this one and thankfully, despite the gruesome sight, no one was seriously injured as a result of this incident.
