Marchand and Couture drop the gloves, then have maybe the worst fight in NHL history
Five minutes for making fools of yourselves, boys. Feel shame.

In case you missed it last night, the Boston Bruins and San Jose Sharks had themselves a good, old fashioned slobber knocker.
Essentially all Hell broke loose in the third period at TD Garden with Sharks head coach Pete DeBoer and six of his players earning themselves game ejections. It was a crazy game that featured plenty of the rough stuff that the Bruins fanbase at TD Garden love. The thing is though, it was the Sharks who were the aggressors for the most part yesterday evening in an interesting juxtaposition.
Here’s a recap of the action from our article on it yesterday evening:
The Bruins were in control early and during the third period, they were leading 5-1 with the Sharks looked lethargic and out of the game. However, they still had the energy to create havoc, which is what took place towards the end of the game.
Six players in total were ejected of the game, on top of Sharks head coach Pete DeBoer who was also thrown out of the game. Because of the Sharks’ poor performance since the start of the season, many fans were joking that he had been fired mid-game.
And here’s a breakdown of all the penalties handed out during the third period:
Sharks Penalties:
Kane - 12 (High Sticking, Misconduct)
Goodrow - 15 (Fighting Major, Misconduct)
Meier - 2 (Interference)
Couture - 12 (Roughing, Misconduct)
Radil - 2 (High Sticking)
Dillon - 2 (Roughing)
+1 Ejected Head Coach
Bruins Penalties:
Ritchie - 15 (Fighting Major, Misconduct)
Backes - 10 (Misconduct)
Marchand - 12 (Roughing, Misconduct)
DeBrusk - 2 (Tripping)
Chara - 2 (Roughing)
Grzelcyk - 2 (Roughing)
See those 12 minutes a piece to Couture and Marchand? Well... those 24 minutes are the consequence for putting on maybe the worst fight in NHL history.
Check it out:
What are you doin', boys?! Someone throw a punch! Is this a hugging contest? Good grief.
In the end Marchand and the Bruins got the last laugh as they waltzed away with an easy 5-1 victory. But... how can you really feel good about yourself after a pitiful scrap like that? Shame on you, boys. Throw a punch or don't drop the gloves in the first place!
