Fleury is prepared to throw down.

It sounds like veteran Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury may have one more item on his National Hockey League bucket list.

On Saturday night, Fleury and the Wild defeated the San Jose Sharks in what was a tense game between the two sides. Things escalated from a physical perspective at several moments during the game and at one point Sharks goaltender James Reimer even appeared to challenge Fleury to a fight by skating to the blue.

Fleury wouldn't take up Reimer on the challenge, but following the game he did acknowledge that Reimer was likely trying to draw him into a goalie fight. Fleury revealed however that a fight in junior had left him with a pretty serious injury, something he simply could not risk at this time of the season.

"Yeah, he gave me a little shrug," Fleury said as per The Athletic. “I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind it. I had a fight in junior and broke a knuckle, I had to miss a few weeks. It’s the end of the season, so no time for that."

On Sunday, Fleury's agent Allan Walsh took to social media to explain that Fleury once had a dream of fighting in the NHL but added that Fleury changed his mind once the injury in junior happened.

It would seem however that Walsh may not be fully up to date on Fleury's desires in that regard, because the veteran goaltender admitted that he would not only be willing to drop the gloves, but would like to do so, albeit only if it was the right time of the season.

"I kind of want (a fight). But it’s not the right time to fool around," said Fleury of being so close to the playoffs.

Hopefully we get to see it happen before he calls it a career.
